Lethbridge Herald (Newspaper) - February 9, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta Britisli critics nominate Scott and Cliayefsky NEW YORK - George C. Scott and Paddy Chayefsky have been nominated for British Academy Awards for their contributions to "The Hospital," the internationally acclaimed United Artists release. Scott, winner of a Hollywood Best Actor Oscar, has been cited by the British for his performance as Dr. Bock, and Chayef-sky for his screenplay. Author Chayefsky already has won the Hollywood screenplay Academy Award for the film. Country music Assn. honors Disney TV show "The Nashville Coyote," a segment of this season's "Wonderful World of Disney" TV series, was honored by the Country Music Association, Inc. for its Outstanding Contribution to Country Music. Carole Taylor leaves 'Canada AM9 for 'W5' Carole Taylor, who has been the co-hostess of the CTV Tele-visien Network's early morning program "Canada AM" since the show's premiere in September of last year, has moved to the Network's � Sunday evening popular and highly - rated news and public affairs program "W5". Carole's talents as an investigative reporter will be utilized as she joins the regular on-air "W5" staff of Tom Gould, Michael Maelear and Ken Lefolii. Miss Taylor's replacement on "Canada AM" will be confirmed as soon as contractual arrangements have been completed. Carole's last appearance on "Canada AM" was Friday, February 2. And he says that, with tape rather than film, a TV show can be edited in a day, instead of four weeks it ordinarily takes. They've developed what they call "computerized editing," which enables them to put scenes together in a few minutes. This is such a recent development -only perfected in the last six months - that many people in the industry are unaware of it. Each truck has a crew of from three to seven men, depending on the need. That's opposed to a typical film crew of between 20 and 40 people. When they did a recent CBS show, Amateur's Guide To Love, Compact Video used a three-man crew. Seidenglanz says that CBS told them they couldn't have done the show for anywhere near the same price using a film crew. Although tlie company specializes in musical shows so far, they have done one TV drama - "Sandcastles" - and it turned out well. Tape is the coming thing for TV production, and companies like Compact Video are making it possible. (Newspaper Enterprise Assn.) Charlton Heston is Oscar emcee Charlton Heston will serve as a master of ceremonies for the 45th Annual Oscar Show of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, it was announced by Howard W. Koch, producer of the program. The show will be telecast on Tuesday, March 27.
