It is also pointed out that, the great railroad, construction that is going on in Canada would not have been undertaken, except for the prospect of an open market in the United States. The American manufacturers contend that the Canadian 'railroads are invading this country as rapidly as possible. It is some years since the Canadian Pacific secured .an entrance to, Chicago through an affiliation of the Soo road with the Wisconsin Central., It is now just as easy to get an unbroken ride from Chicago to Banff, as from Chicugo to Philadelphia. The connection of the Gauadian Northern with.1 Detroit is now-being effected and-,tjfa.e>Grand Trunk Is now breaking info "southern New England. The migration of the American citizens, par? ticularly those of the west, to Canada, Is partly responsible'for the effort to establish a closer relation with this country. ;Thl8emigration appears to be ; increasing vather than diminishing, though' muclr dlsappointmenjt' Is expressed by farmers at bhe inhosplt-ablercllmate of Saskatchewan. Th^re Is also a great excursion trade, from Chicago and, vicinity >every sunimer to portions of.-'-western; Ca-iiada, where the mouiitaln scenevy is most'^mpresslve. , If la also pointed out that there is Het^e's $ 10 for you Her^iS;^10.00 for you for -the rneue breaking , - '';,v- - of a Habit . ,.
