Hudson said he was concerned that the only remorse Mr. Poulsen showed was in fact he had been caught. This was stated in Mr. Poulsen's presentence report. Judge Hudson said he was also concerned about ,the increase in break ins. Allah' Taylor, 19, Vancouver, was sentenced to six months in jail after he pleaded guilty to escaping lawful custody. Mr. Taylor was charged after he tried to escape police custody while being escorted to the Lethbridge provincial court house Jan. 30. The programming is to be screened for content suitable to Lethbridge schools and elimination of. programming with signal variations, says Alberta Educational Communications Corporation (ACCESS) technical director Bill Porochnuk. The education programming originates from the U.S. Mr. Porochnuk, in a telephone interview from Edmonton, said American schools have been using the satellite to provide two-way communication between the classroom and the source of the programming during this school year. The satellite, was launched last spring. The television signal is to be available to this area until mid-May. Mr. Porochriuk says it will be a minor" task to install the parabolic dish on the roof of the science building. Bob Babki said John Walker would complete his service at the end of the closed portion of the meeting. He made the state- ment at the break between the open session and the committee of the whole following it. Dr. Walker, a Fort Macleod physician, served two years on the board. .He holds the Conservative nomination for the next provincial election in Macleod. Mr. Babki said Dick Johnston, the other governor holding a nomination, will stay until an election is called. Mr. Johnston, a Lethbridge accountant, holds the Conser- vative nomination in Lethbridge East. Persons holding government appointments cannot run in provincial elections. stolen automobile charge in Medicine Hat. Terry Lee North Peigan, 16, who is from the Cardston area, pleaded guilty to steal- ing a car and being in posses- sion of a stolen car and was remanded until Feb. 12 for a pre sentence report. Court was told Mr. North Peigan took a 1969 BUick S'portswagen driven by Brian Holland, 822 18th St. S., that was left running in front of the Fritz Sick pool Monday. Mr. North Peigan drove the car to Medicine Hat but turn- ed himself in to Medicine Hat city police Tuesday when the car ran out of gas. He also pleaded guilty to be- ing in possession on Jan. 25 of a 1969 Chrysler reported stolen from Edmonton. Court was told the youth just turned 16 on Jan. 23. Charles Goodine, 29, Ed- monton, was sentenced to one year in jail Monday after pleading guilty to obtaining two loans by fraud. Mr. Goodine obtained a loan of from Avco Finances of Lethbridge using a friend's name on March 12 and on March 27 he obtained a loan of using the same friend's name again, court was told Jan. 22. Elaine Slawson, No. 107, 3509 Sylvan Road, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily harm and was remanded until March 17 for trial. Mr. Slawson is charged with assaulting Winnifred Beck on Dec. 31. Training fund plan okayed Lethbridge public school teachers Wednesday accepted in principle the guidelines for the administration of the 000 professional development fund they obtained in negotiations with the school board last fall. The fund will be ad- ministered by the chairman of the local Alberta Teachers Association professional development committee and the public school director of personnel. The fund is to provide teachers with short term professional training. It includes short courses, workshops, non credit un- iversity courses, seminars, conferences, visitations to other school systems and other short term training ex- periences not identified. The public school board also accepted the guidelines in principle when it met Tuesday. Onassis improving ATHENS (AP) Aristotle Onassis' heart specialist has returned to the United States and cardiographic and oxygen equipment was removed from Onassis' home following reports that the ailing shipp- ing magnate was slightly im- proved. Onassis, 69, has myasthenia gravis, a muscle disease. When he developed influenza last week, it was feared the combination might weaken his, heart. His private secretary said Wednesday that Onassis was "feeling much better although his illness is still serious.' She said he was sleeping most of the time. His brother-in-law, Theodore Garofallidis, told reporters Onassis had asked, for food and no longer re- quired doctors at his bedside.
