Will Be Banquetted on Occasion Of Session Here on February 10 Big doings are promised visiting retail merchants on February 10 in Lethbridge. Arrangements now under way Include a banquet for them by the wholesalers of the city acting in co-operation with the local branch of the Retail Merchants Association. This will be the first district con- vention held in Southern Alberta un- der the new plans of the provincial body in dividing the province. It will also tako the form of the annual meeting of the local branch of the H. M. A. A meeting was held Tuesday be- tween the wholesalers and the retail- ers the result of which is the announce- ment that arrangements are being made for the banquet. Details con- cerning this will bo fully announced later. It is expected a number of whole- salers will address the retailers on market and business questions. Mr. James Kellas, provincial secretary, will render a report on the provincial convention and will also tie ready to go into a number of questions with the retailers. Mr. Kellas will expect the visitors to bring their troubles to him. Mr. Hall, the R. M. A. insur- ance man, will also be present. Mr. W. A. Praser, of Plncher Creek, the newly elected president of tlw provincial body, will be present and will speak. G. R. Marnoch, president of the Lethbridge Board of Trade will talk on conditions as he sees them. All retailers in the Lethbridge district will be made welcome. (Contributed) The polling booth in the Tusls boys' election was opened at 5 o'clock sharp on Saturday afternoon in the boys' club room at the Y. Mr. Byron Datoe and Rev. Crags were duly sworn in as scrutineers. Voting started off very briskly and the Tuxis hoys certainly took advan tage of the franchise as 80 per cent of the voters on the list cast their vote. There were only three spoiled ballots, which shows that the boys went at it in a very careful, business- like way. The polls were kept open a little later than the time arranged on account of the Coaldale boys bsing delayed on the road. Messrs Virtue and Mitchell counted the ballots and the results are as follows: Mayor Sandquist 31 votes Elected Mitchell 7 votes Church.......... 4 votes Baldwin 2 votes Deputy Mayor Cyril Hoult, acclamation.
