The first numbed was a piano selec- tion which Miss Huth Freeman ren- dered in an- artistic manner. Then Mr. Harrison (boy soprano) saug .a pretty spng called "Daddy." After this a really remarkable exhi- bition of Jlesmeiisim and Hypnotism was given by Mr. G. W. H. Jleed. Af- ter a few volunteers offered themselves for the test, Mr. Reed first of all tried a few simple tricks in mesmerism, af- ter which put them, to sleep soj soundly that although Mr. Chivers tried his best to waken them, he could not do so. .Then .air. Reed pro- ceeded to give some very amusing ex- hibitions of his skill which sent the fair sized audience off into shrieks of laughter. An- other chap imagined that a cap was a beehive with some honey in it, and! his efforts to get rid of the imaginery bees was very ludicrous. The exhibi-' tion was concluded by making each subject imagine there was a bright spot on the back of the man in front of him which ho could not rub off. When the subjects were: brought back to consciousness and realized that their coats were on inside out, they made a rusk to get-off the stage and the audience felt that they had given the best exhibition on the kind ever seen, in Lethbridge. During the intermission while the principles of the farce "The Doctor's Assistant" were getting ready, Mr. Allen and Mr. Cooper sang delightful- ly, both being encored. Mr. Brown accompanied very acceptably. The evening's entertainment was then brought to a close by the pro- duction of the farce by members of the A. Y. p. A. which elicited much applause by the enthusiastic audience. It is to be hoped that the public in general will give the citorts of this excellent institution the Anglican Young People's Association as hearty support in the future as they have done in the past, as everybody at- tending the Monday evening enter-j tainuHmts will made to feel as; much at home as possible. j BELOW YOU WILL FIND A LIST OF USEFUL THINGS, READ IT.
