But so long as the Unionists and Labor members sit in the house there seems to he little fear of stopping the waiters lawfulperquisites, -for one of their members classified the different parties in the order of Unionists first, then Labor then Irish Na- tionalists, and last of all the Liberals. But it is curious to'note that since the members received their yearly sti- pend, they have showu'a marked ten- dency to economize'. The proportion of shilling dinners to the total served was greatly In- creased of late, and the -Waiters com- plain that this means reduced tips for cents, which is the usual for a 2o-cent dinner, Instead of silver, when a more expensive din- ner is taken, that it is safe to assume that the knights of the serviette in the House of Commons arc longing for the Unionists to return to power. Numerous other good features are to be found to today's program. The great wild animal production, 'The Lion's was shown at a private exhibition today, and it de- cidedly lives up to all that has been said of it. It will doubtless create a i sensation on l-'riday and when it will be shown at Starland. 'In the Land of the Lions' at the Bijou beasts reigns supreme. The story is an excellent one, and produces thrills of excitement every minute, exciting episodes following one another in rapid succession. The anger of Klug Leo aud his almost successful endea- vor to secure his human prey com- pelling the spectators to hold their breath, and the final rescue of the settler's' family, is in; such a realistic manner that one gives a sigh of thankful relief when the cur- tain rings down on the death of the lion. The animals used In this produc- tion are not tame, hut very ferocious, being caught by the camera ill their natural haunts, and one scene where the camera man is in jeopardy is alone worth going to see. It is very avident that iu their.ambition to fur- nish photo plays of a thrilling and ex- citing character, the camera men at times take very credit risks, an In- stance of which is clearly portrayed in this very rightly-named, king of animal pictures. This much-talked of and extensively advertised animal picture tviii be the offering at the prouder photo play-! house on Wednesday and Thursday. and is calculated to live long- in the j memory of those who witness the per- formance.
