The commit- tee appointed by the Board of Trade today called on the local agent, asking what assurance they could give that cars would be forthcoming. The Can- adian Pacific Railway people were un- able to give any satisfactory answer, but promised to take the matter up with the "other officials." With farm- ers refusing to haul in their wheat until a definite assurance as 1o a car supply is forthcoming from the Can- adian Pacific Railway, and tlie pre- vailing low market, the situation has become serious. New Church Dedicated In an eloquent sermon on Sunday morning, Dr. Ferguson, superintend- ent of Missions, preached the dedica- tion service for the new Presbyter- ian Church, .laying particular stress upon the work of thc pastor, Rev. W. J. Mahaffy, who, by. his untiring and unceasing efforts bud accomplished what had been abandoned several years ago. The church was started in the spring of .1910, and owing to the dry year, work.was stopped, and nev- er started "up again until thc present pastor took charge. He at once took hold of matters personally, and in tlie short space of two months after coming to Taber had the church under construction again.
