DECEMBER 13 New drama series Performance, a 22-week series of one-hour anthology dramas, makes its debut on CBC-TV, Sunday at 9 p.m. Mere are scenes during the season, which run until next spring. SPOTLIGHT Frosty the Snowman That happy-go-lucky Frosty the Snowman, who annually delights the hearts of millions with his corncob pipe, button nose and two eyes made of coal, will again brighten the holiday season when Frosty the Snowman, an animated musical special narrated by Jimmy Durante, is telecast tonight on the CTV Television Network. The musical Christmas fable, based on Jack Rollins' song of the same title, features the voices of comedian Jackie Vernon as Frosty and Billy De Wolfe as the villainous Professor Hindle, a magician whose stovepipe top that transforms the lifeless snow figure into a loveable song-and-dance man. Rich History Ireland's history is staggering in its richness. Detailed recorded history is a part of the Irish legacy and it is said that anything built or recorded after the eighteenth century doesn't quality for history because of its newness. In Heritage: Ireland, airing Sunday on the CTV television network, producer Ron Kelly found the Irish are generally very knowledgeable about the arts and politics. Cyprus aftermath Dramatic and revealing demonstrations on how to fight with your wife, or mate, and a film essay on war's tragic after- math in Cyprus are featured on CBC television's new current affairs series, Primetime, Tuesday at 10 p.m. Primetime host Don McNeil! became involved in the studio group therapy session after the group's psychiatrist, Dr. Herbert Goldberg California, invited McNeill to "fight it us- ing "weapons" which resembled baseball bats made from cushions. Crosby Yuletide Perhaps as much as any one man, Bing Crosby stands out with his wit, talent and with his ultra- casual light-hearted way of making everything seem easy. Next Thursday CTV presents Christ- mas With the Crosbys, a visit with the show business King, his family and their special guests, Karen Valentine and Mac Davis. Kathryn, Bing's wife and their children Mary Frances, Harry and Nathaniel join their famous father and his guests for some festive hilarity in skits and song all in preparation for the coming of Christmas. Included in the highlights are a Christinas medley of tunes ranging from We Three Kings, to Joy to the World and, of course, the perennial favorite White Christmas sung by the entire cast.
