(Family Affair will be pre-empted on this occa- sion. Theme for the musical fanta- sy is taken from the title song, "The Little Drummer which has surpassed even "White Christmas" and "Ru- dolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" in U.S. record sales. Greer Garson narrates the story of the little drummer boy, who, orphaned by bandits, now lives only for his lamb, a camel and a donkey. Teddy Eccles, in the title role sings "Why Can't Animals a song written espe- cially for the special. The voice of the villain, Haramed is played by Jose Ferrer. The title song, "The Litt'.e Drummer Boy" is sung by the Vienna Chcir Boys who also sing a new Christmas song in the special, "One Star in 4he Auiie Murray welcomed by Nashville North Ian Tyson and the Great Speckled Bird are joined by the beautiful and talented Anne Murray, Stompin' Tom Collins and Bob Luman for a half-hour of top country rock sounds on Nashville North, Monday, De- cember 7, p.m. on Channel 13. Ian opens the show with "Long, Long Time To Get Old" and is then joined by Anne who offers "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" and "Rain." Stompin' Tom Collins, the tal- ented singer guitarist who hails from Prince Edward Island, "Luke's and then Ian introduces the famous Tex- as country star Bob Luman. Bob Hope special Monday Bob Hope, the master of the one-liner, the man with the ski nose and Bing Crosby's neme- sis, is back Monday, Dec. 7. on Channel 7 hi color, "on CBC-TV's The Bob Hope Special. The guest cast is an all-star alignment in more ways than one. Along with showbusiness headliners Jack Benny, Claudia Cardinal, Engeibert Humper- dinck and Dorothy Lamour, Bob will also meet the Look All-America football team. Bob. who recently completed his 20th anniversary on televi- sion, greets old friend Jack Benny who holds the same en- viable record for longevity in a business that is renowned for its precariousuess. Luscious Claudia Cardinal will display her talent for com- edy as well as her considerable charms, and handsome Engei- bert Humperdinck entertains the ladies v.ith his smile and songs. Dorciliy Lamour, who co- starr.ed in so many On The Road movies will" fall once more into the ready arms of Bob, and with Crcsby out of the way maybe he gets "to keep her this time. Christmas special in color The night the animals talked Monday night at De- cember 7, the CBC television network presents a Christmas special called The Night The Animals Talked. Salmon film wins top award BELGRADE Tragedy of the Red Salmon, opening pro- gram in the fourth season of the award winning adventure series, The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. has been awarded the gold prize at the sixth International Festival of Scientific Technological Films in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. The film, which traces the migration and eventual death of thousands of salmon, was pro- claimed the best entry from among 79 scientific and techni- cal films from 22 countries.
