It is situated on north side of the Belly river about six miles from Lethbridge, in Township 10, Range 21, west of 4th Meridian, and consists of part of sections 5, 6, 7 and 8, west half of 16, sections 17,18,19 and 20 and west half of 21. , * Mr. F. B. Smith, B. Sc., M. E., estimates the quantity of coal with an approximate thickness of 4 ft., 2 in., owned by the Company, at 33,000,000 Tons. Mr. E. E. Reynolds, Mine Inspector, places the quantity at 40,000,000 Tons, and the average thickness of the seam at 5 feet. The cost of mining is about $1.60 per ton, and the average market price is $2.60, leaving a clear profit of $1.00 per ton. The Canadian Pacific RailwaV are changing their line from Macleod to Lethbridge, as they intend to build a High-Level Bridge at Lethbridge. It will bring the Company's Property within 4 miles of the railroad.
