On index, industrials rose ..10 their 2-lo-l lead over declines on the New York Stock Exchange. The Associated Press 60-stock index rose 0.2 to 2-18.5. Prices advanced across a to 159.0S and base metals to I broad front. They included Ben- SM.IM. Colds dropped .29 lo guct, up 1 at SVs, City Investing, I4S.49 and western oils .30 to JG9.35. Volume by 11 a.m. was shares, down from at the same time Tues- day. Industrials rose for the fourth consecutive session while west- ern oils entered their third con- secutive losing session. DuPont was up to 18, Simp- sons to Canadian Brew- eries to SVs, Alcan 3J to Patino 7s to 33, New Quebec Raglan lo Northgate Vt to lOTs and Denison Vi to International Utilities dropped :B to 267s, Opemiska !s to IHb, Kerr-Addison U to 11 and Sher- ritt 'A to BANKS ADVANCE MONTREAL (CP) Price on the Montreal stock marke advanced on a broad front fo the seventh straight session i light trading today. Banking issues led the morn ing advance with a gain of mor than Hi points. Al! other issue were ahead fractionally excep papers which were unchanged. Highlighting gains were Impe rial Oil up to 18, Royal Ban' !-s to Canadian Brewerie 'a to 8, Alcan Aluminium Vi t Bank of Commerce tc and Bell Canada to 42% Ronalds Federated was off to 11, Inco to 41 and Noranda to On index at 11 a.m., banks were up 1.55 to 175.80, utilities .46 to 130.57, the composite to 158.04 and industrials .28 to 162.31.
