She entered nurses' training at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, and following graduation, nursed in Calgary, with the exception of a brief time spent in Los Angeles. Knud Erik Byrgesen was born in Denmark, and came with his parents to Edmonton in 1956, and later in that year moved to Raymond, Alta. Following graduation from school, he studied drafting and was employed in that field in Calgary. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs Laurits M. Byrgesen of Raymond, Alta.; eight brothers, Jens and Bert of Calgary, Anker, Alfred, Danny, Phillip, Peder and Ole at home; a sister, Dorthe at home; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grayengaard in Denmark.
