Waterton Lake lias an ouUlcor theatre at the camp- ground. It has niglitly pro- gr.fmi during the tourist sea- son. All times arc advertised at various locations in the IiarkMle. The program Includes color slide; and films. Lectures aro usually held from June 20 to Sept. Access to the tiieatro j.s via Cameron Falls Drive and Wnlerlon Avenue. There arc no parking facilities. A .special part of the Inter- pretive program includes car carnvans. From Juno 26 to Sept. 4, the caravans move out daily at 3 p.m. The trip takes Eome two hours. Assembly point Is Upper Wa- tcrton Lake Campground The- atre. On Sunday's the trip takes the visitor to the lllakiston Val- ley. On tire way historical points of interest are outlined and wildlife pointed out by the guides. Monday is observaiion Day from Wafers Valley Viewpoint. Learn about the glaciers. On Tuesdays it's a visit to the ronijo where the life and history of the bison Li explained. Wednesdays there's a discus- sion on the international aspect of Waterton Park anil the his- tory of the peace park explain- ed. Thursdays it's a visit to Cam- eron Lake and Valley wlicro there are beautiful vistas, col- orful history and wildlife. Every Friday there is a visit to the Crooked Creek Beaver Dams. There are heaver colon- ies, birdlife and a habitat study of the Belly River Plateau. In addition there are one-day wilderness hikes on Saturdays only. Those start at 10 a.m. and are continuous each Satur- day from July I to Sept. 2. As- sembly is at the Upper Water- ton Campground outdoor the- atre. Transportation, lunches and suitable clothing the trail- head are required by tho participants. Another trip takes the liikcr to Bcrtah Lake, Howe Lakes, Twin Lakes and Ciypt Lake. Included with this trip aro many other areas that are post- ed. There's on evening program at the Crr.ndcll Mountain Camp- ground, with nightly program? as advertised, A feature is col- or slides. There are parking facilities. Daily at 3 p.m., from Juno 2G lo Sept. there are nuturo walks that last about two hours. Assembly point is tho Cramlcll Mountain Cam p- ground outdoor theatre. A feature of the pork includes an interpretive nature trail hike. This is to Red Rock Can- yon and IMackiston Falls. There is a guide pamphlet that describes flora, fauna and ge- ological points ot Interest. Tho trail is some 114 miles long. Visitors to Waterton Lakes National Park are encouraged lo see the various undesignaied points of interest throughout the parksite- If the hiker plaas to leave (lie main (rails, he is also en- couraged to report with tho nearest park warden so that they may be able to follow through more easily should any problems arise. Thursdays and Saturdays ev- ening programs are held at Iho I) e 11 y River Campground. These are held in the enclosed camp shelter and include, tho showing of color slides. A roving naturalist will maKO stops at all view points in Iho park and at the campgrounds on if daily basis. He covers his routes in a marked vehicle and is available lo answer questions concerning the park. There are scores of hiking trails available to park visitors.
