Perry Barton of Lethbridge, form- erly of Stirling, will celebrate their 50th wedding anni- versary Saturday, August 24 with a reception for family and friends to be held at 7 p.m. at the LDS cultural hall, 10th Avenue and 19th St. S. The couple has six children, Donald and Guila of Lethbridge; Bruce and Sheldon of Calgary; Evelyn of Edmonton and Myrna of Warner. They have 26 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. No gifts, by request. Miss Lila Marie Johnson, daughter of Don Johnson of Cowley and Mrs. Shirley Johnson of Lundbreck, was recently united in marriage with Robert Arthur Desharnais. son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Desharnais of Blairmore. Officiating at the ceremony which took place at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore was Rev. Pat Doran. Organist and soloist was Lois Fortunaso of Bellevue. Maid of honor was Janet Warriner of Lundbreck. Bridal attendants were Lorinda Chambers, cousin of the bride, of Pincher Creek and Tammy Johnson, sister of the bride, of Lundbreck. Best man was Jim Hobson. cousin of the groom, of Blairmore. Groomsmen were Daryl Dypolt of Calgary and Bruce Johnson, cousin of the bride, of Cowley. Ushers were Russel Johnson, brother of the bride, and Jim Desharnais, brother of the groom, of Blairmore. A reception and dance were held in the Lundbreck Community Hall. The couple travelled to eastern Canada, PEI and the United States for a honeymoon, later taking up residence in Lethbridge. St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church was the setting for the wedding of Miss Eleanor Anne Munroe. daughter of Mrs. George H. Munroe and the late Mr. George H. Munroe; and Anthony Kireef, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kireef. All are of Lethbridge. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Carroll, OMT; with the nuptial mass concelebrated by Rev. Ken Forster, OMI; Rev. J. Wilson, CSB and Rev. P. Gallagher, CSB of Calgary.
