JOHN ANTHONY DUCKETT Duckett Taylor The wedding of Miss Brenda Irene Taylor, daughter of Mrs. James Edgar Taylor and the late Mr. Taylor of Saskatoon, to John Anthony Duckett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Duckett of Lethbridge, was recently solemnized at St. Puis Catholic Church in Calgary. The bride, escorted by her brother, Ian Taylor, wore a floor length gown of white chiffon over taffeta. It featured a cathedral train, jewelled alencon lace at the neckline, waist and wrists of the bishop sleeves. A Juliet cap and fingertip veil with matching lace accented the gown. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and lily of the valley. Attending'the bride was Wendy Strilchuk of Edmonton, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Bowman and Darlene Smith of Saskatoon. Mary Elizabeth Duckett, sister of the groom, was junior bridesmaid. All wore identical floor length pink gowns, edged with white lace, and carried colonial bouquets of white daisies. Best man was Michael Duckett. brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Dave Arsenault of Claresholm; Jim Merchant of Edmonton and John Stephure of Stettler. Gaye-Lynn Kern of Saskatoon sang several selections, including The Wedding Song and the Lord's Prayer. A reception was held at the Calgary Inn, with master of ceremonies John Stephure. Judy Taylor attended the guest register. The toast to the bride was proposed by Professor W. R. Staples of Saskatoon. Following the Vancouver honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Duckett left for Reading, England, where the groom is completing his doctorate.
