Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - August 17, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta THE LETHBRIDGE HERALD Friday, Augirtt 15 Helping history come alive Students at Hamilton Junior High this year mapped the original trek of the Northwest Mounted Police from Dufferin, Man., to Fort Macleod, as part of their social studies program. When plans were completed on paper, a group of Hamilton students, led by teacher Bruce Haid actually travelled the historic route. Slides and films of the 1973 trek, produced by the students, have been presented to the Lethbridge public and are ex- pected to be rescheduled in the city later this year. The project is just another example of the personal interest every Lethbridge student receives from many of his teachers. Bottoms the time being School floors have been scrubbed, windows washed and woodwork available until the first major break of the year, Christmas.
