He was born in Mus- selburgh, Scotland on April 11, 1888 and came to Canada in October 1910 to Bellevue, where he has been a resident since, except for short stays in Ericksen, B.C. He was a bach- elor. He worked in the coal mines in Bellevue, Burmis and Hillcrest until his retirement in 1930. He was very active in sports and represented Belle- vue in soccer, cricket, golf, bil- liards and curling events. Sur- vivors include two brothers, Pete of Victoria, B.C. and John (Jock) of Bellevue. He was predeceased by his mother in Bellevue in 1916 and his father and two brothers in Scotland and also two brothers, Robert and Andrew in the Hillcrest Mine explosion, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Campbell o f Calgary.
