Bora a Methodist minister's daughter in North Carolina, Eileen's oldest memories in- clude her longing to be an opera singer. She said, "I loved the opera so much I'd stay borne from birthday par- ties on Salurday afternoon to listen to the opera." In college she majored in voice, and she says one offer toughest jobs was making the transition from classical to pop Eileen has two record singles that take nostalgic looks at radio and the movies, and in the fall her first album of ballads and light rock will be out WANTS TO DO MUSICAL "Of course, I want to do other things besides soap she said. "Broadway. I particularly want to do a musical. Recording is impor- tant to me. I'd like to do some nighttime variety shows. "But I see no reason to give up Lisa at this time. It gives me a very large audience and I want to make it work for me. "It makes me mad to bear people knock soap operas. It makes me mad to hear other actors knock if they're working on one. If they don't believe in it, they shouldn't be doing it. "Soap opera is hard work and the hours are long. And it takes a great deal of acting ability and professionalism from everyone to make it all click."
