To express the Tiews and ideals policies of the organized workers of this proTince, the Alberta .Federa- tion of Labor has completed arrange- ments for the publication of its own official newsjiaiwr. The new paper will -be launched in a special I-atior iray edition on Sept. 1 neit. The need ot an official organ has realized for some time past At the last three conventions of the fed- eration the demand has been insist- ent, and the executire committee of the federation was definitely Instruct- ed to make arrangements for the pub- lication of a paper In the interests of labor In all parts of the province. 16 months past the Edmonton Trades and Labor council has pub- lished a paper known" us the Edmon- ton Free Press, and has met with such great success that the Alberta feder- ation decided to negotiate for the ac- quirement of this newspaper. In con- sequence it has now been adopted by the federation and has been en- dorsed as the official organ of labor in Atberta, with the new name which indicates its new status as a provin- cial newspaper. Henry J. Roche of Edmonton will be the manager. The federation has been fortunate in securing his aerr as Mr. Roche is a very well newspaperman of many years experience and high reputation. He is at present in the city on business in connection.'vVritir the new pubJtca tlon. Elmer E.
