Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - August 4, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta Auguil 4, 1971 7HI ICTHBBIDGE HERA1D _ 19 J-ctmil y Ann Landers DEAR ANN LANDERS: I have been dating a young man for several years. Dan is everything a girl could want. Well almost. He is kind, nice looking, considerate, fun to be with and he makes good money. The only drawback is Dan's gram mar. For example, IB says, "I "youse" and "have went." I bite my tongue when he makes these awful mistakes especially in the presence of my friends. I don't want ta be ashamed ol him, Ann, and I don't want to embarrass him either, but I'm afraid one day I might. Is there a chance Uiat we can have a good marriagi spite el this? I am 26 and a college graduate. Dan is ZJ and attended trade school. I do Jove him, but I (ear I'll be nagging worse, a silent wife who is ashamed of hei husband's grammar. Please hurry your answer. He is wailing for Penna DEAR YORK: Dan sounds too good to discard Ask him i lie wants to be Hie two of you are alone, o course. Incidentally, you misspelled the word grammar ttirbughou' your letter. It is AR, dear. Perhaps you and Dan are not ao far apart as you think. DEAR ANN LANDERS: I've been enjoying (he snoring letters immensely because this subject Is very close to rcy heart I used to snore, but I don't any more. The solution was suggested by my friendly druggist, I'd like to share it with you Everyone knows that snoring occurs only when the mouth is trick is to keep it shut. Just take a piece of adhesive tape and place it over the snorcr's mouth Try it, Ann. Jt really Moines Reader DEAR D.M.: Thanks but I don't have to try it. I don't snore. DEAR ANN LANDERS: Not long ago you had a letter from a reader who wanted to know if it is possible for a wcman to be pregnant for nine months and not know it. The miler told about a lady who had given birth in a parking until the last minute she denied she was pregnant. A few days after I read that column the same thing hap- pened in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This young couple (married for five years) had been told that they would never have a child and adoption was recommended. Shortly after, the young wife was stricken with back pains. She called the doctor because she was sure she was having a kidney attack. He rushed her to the hospital and her baby boy was born a few hours later. The woman had been taking Alka Seltzer and Sal Hcpabca I'or six months to relieve her "indigestion." She had also been dieting to lose weight. Her doctor told her she had a nervous stomach and not to worry. I've heard many people say you make up letters because some of the things that appear in your column are too far out to be true. Here is a good example [hat truth is stranger than Reader DEAR READER: Right you are. Truth IS stranger in fact, that's the title of my last book, a collection of the best letters over these past 15 years. Thanks for giving me the op- portunity to plug it.
