A Cross-Canada survey by The Canadian Press indicates that at least 30 communities from Osoyoos, B.C., to Goose Bay, Lab., are planning Miles {or Millions marches to raise money, mostly for aid in under- developed countries. Henry Fletcher, national of the campaign and executive director of the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief said about two per cent of the taken part in the marches in the last three years. The marches, started strictly as an Oxfam concern, are fast becoming a Canadian institu- tion. The marches operale on a sponsorship system. For exam- ple, a walker who completes a 30 mile hike with 10 sponsors each pledging a mile vrouk earn ?300 for charity.' This year's campaign was of- ficially opened in Ottawa Apri 18 when Gflv.-Gen.
