Prices continued to rise, unemployment reached a late winter peak, foreign trade was profitable, and production recovered from a slump. Here is a roundup of reports from the Bank of Canada, the Dominion Bureau of Statistics, and Central Mortgage and Housing Corp.: In April: Average interest-rate yields on long-term government bonds at market prices declined to 7.79 per cent at mid-month from 7.86 on April 1, and treasury bill yields dropped to 6.63 per cent from 7.02.
