(CP) Eight miles north of here, there are plans to sell new three-bedroom houses for as little as including broadloran, drapes, refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer. Canadian Modular Develop- ment Co. plans to build a total of 569 houses in a schzme simi- lar to the Ontario government's Home Ownership Made Easy (HOME) program. Payments might be as low as a month. The firm already has a pilot land-lease project of 18 bunga- lows in Midland, 25 miles north of here, and the new develop ment is planned for 141 acres in Flos Township at the village of Craighurst. Under the HOME program, the cost of land is removed from the down payment and purchasers make a five-per-cent down payment on the houses only. The land occupied by the house can be purchased after five years or leased as long as 50 years. Canadian Modular Develop- ment's plan differs in that the land is not purchased but rented on a 25-year basis. The lesse fe renewable for another term of 25 years.
