Fruit Lands Coal Lands Customs Brokers New evidence of the prosperity of Lethbridge and the surrounding- District" are appearing every day. With this issue we have to announce the opening of a new Real Estate firm which is making its bowto the public under very favorable con- ditions. The old firm of N. T. Macleod Co., finding business growing too fast for their ability to take care of it, is going out and a new firm under the name of Freeman, Macleod Graham is taking its place. The members of the firm are all well known throughout the West. Mr. Freeman until lately, manager of the Lethbridge Electric Co., hails from Hamilton, .Ont., which point he left in 1882, coming to Grenfell, where he started farming, later embarking in the mercantile business with Mr. R. E. Sherlock, about 1S903 at which time a good deal of attention was directed to Lethbridge. The firm sold out the Grenfell business and purchased the grocery business of T. Botteril at Lethbridge, which they continued under the name of Sherlock Freeman until 1907. On the organization of the Lethbridge Electric Co., Mr. Freeman took charge of the plant, continuing as manager until the sale of the plant to the City of Lethbridge last year. Since that time Mr. Freeman has been manager for the Arrow Lake Orchards owning some acres of Fruit Lands in the Eootenay District, and his success in this has decided him in embarking on a larger scale. Mr. N. T. Macleod is also an old timer, coming to the. District in the spring of 1880. Entering the employ of J. G. Baker Co.. at Macleod'the same year, moving 'to Lethbridge in 1885 when the firm opened a branch here. On the sale of their busi- ness to the Hudson's Bay Co., in 1891, he continued with the new-firm as .manager until 1898, when he was transferred to Nelson, B. C., and left the employ of the company three years later, returning to the prairie and for the past three years con- ducting a general brokerage business in city property and insurance. Mr. Graham, while not so long in the district is well and favorably known, hav- ing been Agent for the Canadian Pacific Ry. Co., at Lethbridge and is a general favor- ite with all who have done business with him while with the By. Co. He has resided for some years in the United States, principally in Iowa and knows the Middle and Western States thoroughly. In addition to the lines previously handled, it is the intention of the firm to go extensively into the Farm Land business, in which Mr. Graham's eastern connection together with the other partners' knowled ge of the country here should be the means of securing a good share of the They will have commodious ground floor offices on the main street in the Leth- bridge Hotel Block and will be glad to meet old friends there and also are prepared to cultivate any new friendships.
