Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - April 2, 1974, Lethbridge, Alberta t, 1t74 TMi LfTHBMOOl HERALD-7 Doris Clark 'Trash' troubles reader DKAR DORIS: I had all respect for your column and read it regularly until that piece about the 18- year-old girl who lived with a married man or kept company with him till she became pregnant. She should jump in the canal, where her dear mother would never know. It's very sad to see the trash and filth our dear teen-agers are exposed to. It's a miracle we have so many respectable ones. I am greatly shocked with your attitude to .publish such filth. I quit taking the paper after that. Disgusted. DKAR DISGUSTED. Do you think your solution of having her jump in the canal is consistent with what you say in your second paragraph where you speak of "our dear And what makes you think that" the "dear mother" would never know? If the mother is dear and the daughter is dear' to the mother, I would be hopeful that there would be greater sympathy between them than you indicate- in your scathing remarks I don't like filth either, but I do ask for an ability in my readers to face facts and try to come to helpful and hopeful conclusions about them. DEAR DORIS: Could you please give me some information on how to go about starting a day care centre? I need to know such things as the amount of room needed, how much to charge, and what kind of plaything to buy, etc. Thank You. DEAR THANK YOU: If you are talking about a day care centre for children, government standards are set up and such projects are regularly inspected. The amount of room you need depends on the number of children you plan to take care of, staff wanted, hours you plan to operate and the general type of service you have in mind. Get in touch with your provincial department of health and social development in Edmonton and ask fur the authority on the setting up of day care centres Address all questions to Doris Clark, 66 Rosedene Ave., Hamilton, Ont. Ro-Neet controls weeds for belter sugar beet yields There's no better way to control weeds in sugar beets than to use Ro-Neet herbicide before planting. Mix Ro-Neet in the soil field-wide and control weeds in the rows and in the middles as well. Ro-Neet works on weeds rain or shine. It's mixed right in the soil in the weed germination zone where it destroys weeds as they sprout. You don't have to wait for rain or irrigate to make it work. With clean fields from the start, thinning and blocking are easier. And less expensive. Liquid Ro-Neet 7.2E is easy to use. Ro-Neet controls nightshade, barnyard- grass, wild oats, pigweed, foxtails and many other troublesome weeds. For bigger beet yields and easier harvest, get Ro-Neet now.
