off isnt until April 16 But many men have already tossed the razor aside to get a head start much to their wives displeasure According to Judy McKinney a sesquicentennial board member the committee had planned to start selling the permits on the 16th but that wasnt soon enough for some Two ladies called me before Valentines Day and each said Is there anyway you could have them ready before Valentines I dont want my husband growing a McKinney told them No We were planning on having them ready for the One of the ladies pleaded Well then is there any way you could have them ready at least in time for Easter I want to put it in his Easter basket so hell know I dont want him to grow a McKinney said some wives did nt mind their husbands growing beards for the contest but didnt want their husbands with stubble and partial beards on Easter a tra ditional day for every member of the family to dress and look their best for church service I frankly feel the same McKinney said Shell be one of the first to buy a permit to put in her husbands Easter basket she said So just in time for Easter smoothie permits went on sale for Friday The permits were to be picked up from the printer in plenty of time but some got a lit tle anxious To calm their fears McKinney vowed to drive all over the county to deliver the permits to area merchants who agreed to sell them at midnight March 31 if necessary Every beauty shop in the county is selling permits McKinney said David Hartley 105 E Madison is the only barber in town who agreed to vend smoothie permits Permits can also be purchased by
