August 23. 1954 count y prepares to pick ask committee machinery for selecting county and Community agricultural stabilization and conservation committees was set in motion recently with the appointment of election boards in 18 Sullivan county areas. Methods of electing the commit tees will be slightly different from those used in the past for choosing pm committees which the ask succeeded but will follow some what similar Basic principles. The procedure is announced by c. H. Jent jr., soil conservation technician As follows nominating meetings called by the Community election boards will be held in each of the 18 communities August 31 at . At least 10 persons will be nominated at each meeting As candidates for Community committeemen. Community elections will be held september 14, also at . At this time eligible voters will cast secret ballots for their Choice of Community committeemen. The person receiving the highest number of votes will be chairman of the Community committee the next highest vice chairman next regular member and the fourth and fifth alternate members. Community committeemen will take office october 1 and will be responsible for administering the ask programs in their communities. The person elected chairman of each Community committee also will act As Delegate to the county convention which will be held in the county ask office september 24. The convention will elect the county ask committee composed of three regular members and alternates. Members of the Community elec Tion boards which will be responsible for holding the Community nominating meetings and elections were chosen by the county ask election Board which is composed of county agent j.
