grains to accomplish this goal de spite current efforts to reduce gov ernment spending Forest Service Funds Asked Congress was also urged to pro vide funds to speed up the Forest Scivicc program of revegetation waiershed restoration range im pnivimeiits and physical improve ment of national forests to con tinue Department of Agriculture snow survey programs and to per mil completion by 1970 if possible of standard topographic mapping of the United States federal and state agencies were urged to expand programs of soil and water research to meet dej creasing fertility and productivity i levels on much of the Wests irri gated and dryland areas I Congress was asked to amend the controversial 160acre limita tion law to provide flexible acreage limits to be agreed upon for each individual project according to the nature of local problems Delegates unanimously com mended Secretary of Interior Douglas McKay for his declara tion that henceforth generation of hydroelectric power
