a jury in the circuit court a Bessemer on thursday of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than the crime of the jury brought in a verdict for the lesser crime about six Oclock after discovery was made by mrs Oscar Bel Tanen a neighbor who went to the Anderson House to borrow some Medicine mrs Anderson testified that be tween one and two Oclock in the morning she heard her husband bedroom and assaulted her with a razor As she Lay in bed with the infant in her arms she be came unconscious and remained in that condition until about six Oclock and shortly after that hour she was found in the condition noted by mrs Beltane Anderson slept at the Beltane Home that night he said that when he arrived Home he tried to get into the House but the door was locked he Ejot a Long pole and tried to awaken his wife with that being unsuccessful he aroused his neighbor Oscar Beltane and slept with one of the boarders he said his wife had acted Queerly for some time previous to the tragedy and was hysterical and believed she had inflicted the wounds upon herself when arrested Anderson had six Hundred dollars in currency in his shoes and he had much difficulty in the trial
