Ward caucuses and City convention the fact that the Spring elections Are Only a Little More than two weeks off is revealed by the Call of the Citira Zens party issued this week for Ward caucus son thursday March 23 at each of the Ward caucuses candidates will be nominated for supervisor Ald Erman and Constable and delegates elected to the citizens convention to be held at the City Hall on March 25 at which the party candidates for mayor City clerk and treasurer will be chosen there has been very Little doing in town politics so far but it will be surprising if some warm contests for places on the Ward tickets do not develop by next thursday evening the news record understands that neither supervisor Emil Nyberg nor Alderman Richard Banfield of the fourth Ward will seek reelection this Spring among the names being Dis cussed in this Ward for supervisor Are those of capt g a Anderson arid w a Cole and for Alder Nan those of f w May w o Trezise Oie Are heard it is stated that All of the retiring supervisors and aldermen in the other wards of the City will be candidates for re nomination and re elections it looks As though d e Sutherland would again be the Only candidate for mayor and that Jacob Nelson and win d Snyder would be unopposed for treasurer and City clerk the Call for the citizens caucuses and convention follows citizens cily convention a Delegate convention of the Citi Zens party of the City of Ironwood will be held in the Council Chambers in the City on Satur Day March 25 1911 at p m for the purpose of placing in nomination candidates for the various City Ollices to be voted for at the regular City election to be held on monday april 1911 As follows one mayor one City clerk one City treasurer also for the purpose of electing a chairman and Secretary of the Citi Zens City committee for the ensuing 3rear and for the transaction of such other business As May properly come before the convention representation in said convention shall be by order of the citizens City convention one Delegate for every Lifty votes or major fraction thereof cast for mayor at the preceding City election april 4 the several wards of the City will be entitled to representation in the convention As follows dels first Ward 4 second 155 3 third 105 3 fourth 221 4 fifth 4 sixth 185 4 87 2 eighth 197 4 caucuses to elect delegates to the City convention and to nominate candidates for Ward Ollices will be held in the several wards of the City on thursday March 23 1911 the chair Man and Secretary of each Ward Cau Cus Are requested to certify to the Secretary of the citizens City com Mittee a list of the delegates elected to the City convention also the names of the candidate nominated for Ward Ollices in order that the Prima Facie Roll of the convention Ironwood and Hurley on the one hand and the so called Appleyard interests on the other referred to in these columns were brought to a definite Conci usion at Milwaukee last Friday was predicted All questions in dispute were settled the suits for damaged for failure of specific performance applications for intervention or appraised by skateboards being either discontinued or withdrawn the decks were cleared and Mel d Kelson representing the Public Utility plants named gave the Appleyard interests composed of Wisconsin and new eng land capitalists a new option for Pur Chase running to sept 1 the news record is informed that under the terms of the new option or Nelson has deposited with trus tees in Milwaukee All stocks Bonds and other evidences of ownership in the plants the same to be delivered to the Appleyard people when the latter pay Over the Purchase Price which is understood to be in the neighbourhood of the Deal May be consummated on the first Day of any month up to sept la and if pay ment of the Purchase Price is not made by the latter Date the option terminates by limitation or it d Sullivan who is the local representative of the Appleyard interests has intimated this week that the Deal will probably be closed on May 1st and is sure that the time will not run beyond june i 1910 Ore shipments the Iron Trade lie View of Cleve land has just published a table show ing company cars or plows throw into the streets and the third change extends the time from july to december 1911 in which the company May Start work on its plants and gives it until december 1912 to
