the House by the vote of fifty five to thirty seven three efforts to Amend the Bill failed while one to substitute the word refined Copper instead of Copper Ore was successful a motion to have action postponed for a week introduced by representative Bierd for speaker Baker was also Defeated the representatives from the upper Peninsula fought the measure hard knives and Forks at a set As Good As republicans of go Gebic county was held at the City Hall in this Cit last Friday night for the purpose of nominating a candidate for county commissioners of schools and electing nine delegates to represent go Gebic county in the state convention held on March 2 at Saginaw Bush chairman of the county committee Pas chairman of the con j Alexander Secretary miss Laura Bowden of Ironwood who has filled the position of county commissioner of schools for one term was renominated As the party Candi Date for the place without opposition the unanimity of the action of the delegates was a deserved
