and capitalist whose Home is Ironwood owns the Iron Wood Street railway and electric lighting properties which Are incorporated As the twin City general electric co Over at Bessemer is a privately Railroad commission for authority to Issue Stock and Bonds the commission told the consolidated company that their properties would not warrant it the limit of the Stock Issue was Cut by the commis Sion to and the Bond Issue to the Price which the Ashland men agreed to give or Nelson for its Street railway and lighting plants was they were to pay him Cash and give notes for 000 to be secured by Bonds on the consolidated properties of the two cities shortly afterwards and be fore the Bonds could be printed m r Nelson Learned things which prompted him to refuse to carry out his part of the transaction on the ground that the consolidated company even at the maximum fixed by the commis Sion was Over capitalized and Over bonded he petitioned the commis Sion to cancel its permit to the consolidated company to Issue even 000 Stock and Bonds and it was on his petition that last weeks hearings before the commission were heard in the meanwhile the consolidated company has begun suit in a Milwaukee court against or Nelson for a specific performance of his contract to sell the commission in its order to is sue Bonds decreed that none of the Bonds must be sold for less than eight five cents on the Dollar which is represented to be a reasonable minimum it came out at the hearing before the commission that the consolidated company has organized a holding company under the Wisconsin Law this holding company was to take the consolidated company Bonds at eight five and then Issue Bonds of its own which under the Wisconsin Law it could sell As Low As seventy five cents on the promoters however say that they could readily sell the holding com pants Bonds for As Good As eighty this deduction has been suggested to the commission the holding com Pany would get Bonds for or say even at it would make on each Bond simply by transferring from the consolidated operating company to the holding company the Ashland men who control the operating company also control the holding company when the Bonds became due the holding com Pany would get for Bonds which were turned into its Treasury at and the Michigan properties would have to earn All of the velvet or what Ever name
