Indianapolis Monroes Iron Clad Age (Newspaper) - March 15, 1884, Indianapolis, Indiana Vrh Quot Quot to it ithe Iroler Clai the eve Ollied Seymour , 15, 1884, Row Tate Iron Jaa age. Obria Tian immorality. Tally n. Y., feb. 21,1884. . Monroe we know of but one kind of morality in existence and that is natural morality. Which is a system or practice of moral duties in reference to right and wrong Between Man and Man in the natural sense that inculcates honesty Justice and righteousness that is right doing and right acting in every relation in life. / no religious organization can monopolize morality yet All teach it to a certain extent but weave in their religious dogmas As Superior to morality and maintain that morality outside of religion a nac companies by a belief in them with their absurdities and mysteries is entirely worthless Aud even vicious. This is True with regard to christianity and Christian teachings of the present time with which every free and Liberal minded person should compare notes and examine turn Over and investigate again to see if the claim is not false. The Christian scheme of salvation is founded on immorality and injustice although like a sponge it attempts to absorb every thing Good and Call it Christian we pronounce it a failure and the attempt immoral. Therefore we assert there is no such thing As Christian morality but that christianity is founded built up and perpetuated by the practice of the grossest i moralities known and can not be a moral system. Christianity asserts that less than 2000 years ago an All Wise perfect and merciful god permitted his own innocent son to bleed and suffer to be tortured and murdered to Correct his own mistakes and save a few of the human family the mistake and injustice Here was in not saving All and the failure to do so by infinite Wisdom was an immoral act but is one of the samples of Christian morality. If god did not commit the murder he was at least accessory to it and sanctioned it As necessary to carry out his plans that required the life of an innocent person which is one of the most hideous and atrocious crimes grossly immoral whether committed by god or Man. I the origin of christianity was in bloodshed and murder and need we wonder that its devotees have marked their path with cruelty injustice persecution revenge torture sword and fire blood and murder from its Advent up to the present time Vixen Only imitating the example of their god but if Christian morality is the Only True morality what kind of morality was in Vogue before its introduction As Good old Job was a moral and upright Man Aud perhaps there were others of that period but none of them had Ever heard of christianity consequently were All lost. Injustice is immorality. Christianity does injustice to the thousands of millions who lived before Chi is in providing no Savior for them therefore it is a fraud Tei Riby at fault devoid of Benevolence being cruel heartless and unjust therefore in amoral. If Christian doctrines Are True that Christian gods created millions of human beings without our consent to torture us eternally or to deprive us of happiness even because of unbelief in myths phantoms and unreasonable assertions devoid of All proof cruel devils and malicious fiends would be More appropriate for them than gods. For while in their Power to have done better they have done an irreparable injury to Mankind the injustice and immorality of it being evidently beyond question As they Only were the originators of the hellish scheme. It is injustice and immorality of the vilest kind to enslave the minds of the ignorant with creeds and dogmas the truth of which May be doubtful or to teach belief in mysteries As salvation. The act of forcing Christian teaching prayers and Bible into our common schools no matter How valuable or necessary christians May think them to be is a species of immorality As injustice is surely done to certain classes of unbelievers. Christianity says the the basest vilest criminals the most immoral and Dib Solute the greatest villains and plunders of society those guilty of the most atrocious crimes and even murderers will enter into their heaven after death while the Noble minded honorable upright moral person if an unbeliever will not be allowed to enter the Dia. There is one Good thing about this we Don t think he would Oam to if Obi to Bra opiate eternally with Attoh oomph by. Yet we Are told of the Beautiful and glorious team filings of christianity and of the superiority of Christian morality to natural morality while this far in our examination of its teachings we find some of the most immoral unjust false and Damnable teach is to be found in any system of religion. / we find teachings disgraceful to any half civilized people damaging to the morals of any decent Community and to be deprecated by All intelligent Loyal citizens As dangerous to the welfare of both state and nation. Deception oppression and extortion Are i moralities. Christianity asserts that there Are in existence three gods located somewhere in the heavens and then says these three gods Are but one god this of course appears reasonable enough to the simple minded who readily accept it As True because so mysterious and Are thus deceived and made dupes of to extort Money for the support of the clergy and to save their souls. Others More sensible accept such doctrines when popular for selfish and immoral purposes but not because they believe them True thus they soon become deceivers and hypocrites possessed of plenty of Christian morality which is but natural immorality of a vile and deceptive kind despised by All Good honest people. Aside from Christ god number two who is supposed to have been once an inhabitant of this Earth and claimed to be Only the son of Man these gods have never been seen and Are not known to have anything but an imaginary existence and if christians would be honest and say these Are Only theories and speculations it might perhaps do Little harm. But christianity says believe in the real existence of these gods or be damned. Honest thinking reasoning people cannot believe this for want of evidence therefore it is deception injustice and oppression to enforce a belief in such doctrines enslaving debasing and immoral producing hypocrites slaves and villains. Christianity teaches As a fact the existence of a personal Devil in the heaven above on this Earth and in an imaginary hell somewhere beneath us having almost unlimited Power Over Mankind for evil created by a just and Good god having the welfare of All his creatures at heart. No living human being has Ever seen such a Devil that should be Good evidence to regard such a being a myth and sensible reasoning people believe him to be nothing More. It would be an immoral and unjust act in a god to create such a being and the meanest kind of deception and extortion in the clergy to scare children a the simple minded with such falsities and exact pay for thus deluding them. As science has not yet demonstrated a future life and As no dead person has Ever returned to inform us of a future life no one positively knows there is an existence for human beings after death the act of teaching As a fact a future life is imposition deception and immorality too false and groundless for general credence. Such deception should not be encouraged. Building houses of worship dedicating them to the worship of god and refusing to pay taxes As on other property is unjust and oppressive and if duty to the gods leads to a disregard of the rights of our neighbors the act May be religious and pleasing to the gods but it is immoral vicious and unjust to Mankind hence we see the inferiority of religious or Christian morality so called to natural morality which inculcates Justice to All. Tis false to teach that a person belonging to a Church and believing in Christian doctrines must be considered a moral Man while guilty of so much immorality. Christianity teaches the an honest and virtuous life is not necessary to salvation therefore promotes immorality. Right doing is not necessarily Christian any More than wrong doing As christians practice both so if one is Christian the other must be. We have thus glanced at a few of the i moralities of christianity Aud of Christian teachings and while the fruits Are producing so Many evils among christians As a few will mention their claim to morality is false. We find strife hatred revenge cruelty injustice selfishness intolerance bigotry intemperance vice treachery hypocrisy lying avarice malice slanders crime torture Anc murder. These Are Christian Morimo. B. 0. Trow Bidoni. For Tate is Clad ase. J they starved the Teod Man Olear ii. New Hampton mo., web. 29, 84 do. Monroe a nth Ray Nineteen years ago when i firs came to live among the a Clas they seen de to be in a flourish a co cution. And at one of ther protracted meetings Twenty six converts were added to their number. But soon after the Devil disguised As an anti Mason came ammo them and persuaded them thata Mason was a far worse Man thai he was and if they would Leav off fighting him and turn their artillery against secret soc Ilies he would help them All he cold. So they jumped at the offer entered into the unholy Alliance Laid away their bibles adopt i Morgan As their crucified one subscribed for Sony sure and the Alne rican Freeman and have been fighting the masons in league with the Devil Ever since. They Jive not quite Given up their Bible however but continue taking it in kind of broken doses As it a Mes to them filtered through the columns of the anti masonic Piess. And As they a wave not quite i unit in their new departure bickering commenced Back Billings recriminations wars and Runfors of wars. And looked at one tone As if the result might be like the Kilkenny cat fight where nothing was left but the tails. But As i am neither a Mason nor an anti Mason but a Mere Spectator they have nothing against me and i never lived among Kinder neighbors i like the people but despise their religion. For a religion that teaches us to hate our fellow men must be hell born. For if we love not Man whom we have seen How can we love god whom we have not seen. And now for the sequel. If theh circuit rider happened to be a Mason no matter How Good a Man he might be their attendance on his ministrations were slim and his pay was Slimer. And if he was not a Mason yet would not preach against masons he was their great ally told them worse than the other fellow and so they paid him less than they did the main. And As they could not get a Simon pure anti Mason circuit rider they kept on paying him less and less just As if they were trying to find out How Little a Man could live on keep his nakedness covered and have strength enough left to preach once a month. Like the Man who tried to learn his horse to live on nothing and just As he had got him reduced to one Straw per Day the poor old creature died and this but for outside help would have been the Fate of their last preacher who delivered his Farewell Sermon last sunday. His text on this occasion was Quot Render therefore unto All their romans 13-7. After discoursing in a very Able manner on the necessity or rather imperative duty of dues being rendered to every person High or Low Rich or poor to whom they belonged he concluded by saying my Mission to you is ended. I have faithfully Misof barged the duties of my ministry to the Best of my ability so help me god. I have never missed an appointment but have come through rain and Sunshine through storm and flood whether there was few to meet me or whether there was none i was Here at the appointed time so i repeat again my text Quot Render therefore unto All their dues Quot but there was no response and Echo Only answered dues. He then requested a to be taken up for missionary and other Kindred purposes which he named when fifty cents was contributed by a gentleman from a neighbouring county and that was All. As it was the last Straw that the old horse died on and tradition says it was the last Straw that broke the camels Back so this was the last Straw that broke the connecting link Between the go class and their circuit rider As he turned on them and said they ought to be ashamed of themselves that the debtors column of the almighty s account Book against this class must be full that they were a bickering by cd biting Dis a fitful set and he solemnly warned the Young people present to beware of them and have nothing to do with them and by no Means to join them As they would assuredly Lead them straight Down to i and damnation. He then Shook the skirts of his threadbare garment and wiped the dust from the soles of his worn out boots a a testimony against them Asho slowly and sorrowfully stepped Down and out we. read or.
