The onion Purchase pushed the Terre haute Campaign total Over the $100,000 Mark and the committee has set a new goal of $125,000 for this year. The drive has already passed the highest total sales for the Community since the inception of Israel Bonds in 1951, and chairman Cohen is confident that the Community will be successful in obtaining the new goal. The anti defamation league of b Nai b Rith has urged Public service commission of Indiana to require that the clerk of anonymity enveloping the persons responsible for automated Telephone messages be dropped to reveal the True and actual sponsors of such messages. Unless a tape and a verbatim transcript Are preserved the victims basis for action has become As ephemeral As the phantom to whom this action seeks to give the league told pc they a believe the proposals to be necessary to meet the Challenge created by these messages and their sponsors. New Jarc officials newly elected president Phil Pecar outgoing president rabbi Sidney Steiman and newly named executive director Theodore Walden left to right look Over the Agenda at last weeks annual meeting of the jewish Community relations Council. The meeting was held at the Jea. State and cited the Indiana Constitution a no preference shall be Given by Law to any Creed religious society or Mode of worship and no Man shall a compelled to attend erect or support any place of worship or to maintain any ministry against his consent. The Jarc added that article 1, Section 6 specifically forbids the use of Public funds for sectarian schools. In their statement to the committee the Adl said a your system of Public education is rooted in support to institutions not Grants to children or parents but added that persons who wish to Send their children to private schools have a right to do so under state Law but that private in this sense is an option and a in the american society we always pay extra for exercising the for the state to support both systems of education a the Adl continued a directly or indirectly on leads to the fragmenting of Public education if not to its ultimate the committee to study the Pupil transportation Issue was formed to seek Public opinion after a number of parochial school patrons sought to obtain transportation for their children. Their chief Point is that they pay taxes for support of the Public school system and should have a right to use buses their tax Money helps pay program set for Golden agers the Golden agers will celebrate thanksgiving with a special program. Mrs. Meyer Satin sky who has been popular with the group for some time in her presentation of outstanding programs will present a program of popular and yiddish songs accompanied at the piano by mrs.
