Tennis Golf mrs. Steinberg dances parties and travel have predominated the social Side this week. A a a it was a week to remember for Florence and Edward Fershtman. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past week with two Lovely parties. On thursday evening june 29, 1972, the actual anniversary Date of the Fershtman a a Beautiful party was Given in their Honor at the Broadmoor country club for members of the immediate family. Hosts and hostesses for the party were or. And mrs. Samuel Wolf or. And mrs. Ferdinand born or. And mrs. Abe Kroot or. And mrs. Myron Wolf and or. And mrs. Allan Kahn. On saturday evening july 1, 1972, the second Silver anniversary party of the week was celebrated by Florence and Edward Fershtman at the elks club where they were surrounded by their Many friends on this Happy occasion. Florence looked Lovely in a Long gown of Navy White and Green As she danced with her husband of Twenty five years to the tune of the anniversary Waltz. Joining the Happy couple on the dance floor for the anniversary Waltz were Joan and Leon Hor Witz daughter and son in Law of the Fershtman a. Joan Hor Witz wore a Beautiful deep purple pants suit fashioned by a smartly embroidered top. Among those dining dancing and offering their congratulations to Florence and Edward were Freda and Ben sacks Rose and Harry Green Wald Sally and Irving sacks Emily and Harry Berger Helen and Herman Stein Faye and Jack Dorfman Sara and Kiefer Lazarus Marge and Jack Wood Mansee Ani Charlotte and Sam Epstein. A Beautiful anniversary cake decorated in Blue White and Silver was served later in the evening and there were a lot of shutters snapping at this Happy event in the lives of Florence and Edward Fershtman we wish them both Many More Happy anniversaries a a the Broadmoor country club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a whole series of activities Over the Holiday weekend beginning with a reception held on july 1st at 7 30 . On the Patio of the club honouring past presidents of the Broadmoor and Walter Johnson who has served As a waiter of the club for the past fifty years. Following the reception a formal dinner dance was held featuring the music of the Phil Marshall orchestra. Everyone looked dressed to the Hilt with tuxedos and formal gowns at this gala occasion. Among those enjoying the evening were Barbara and Steven Bailie Sharon and Jay Doner Harriet and Bud Mossier Sorelle and Steve an cel Esther and Morris Nahmias Carol and Arnold Chaplick Fay and Sam Klez Mer Phyllis and Jerry Green Florence and Sam Kroot Carol and Arnie Satz and Pauline and Norman Newman. Babs and Alan Cohn were in charge of decorations for the evening which included Lovely Floral arrangements of Orange roses Birds of Paradise and tropical fruits. Lillian and Allan Selig handled the special arrangements for the event and their co chairmen were Ann and Edwin Druker and Judy and Steve Jacobs. It was a grand kick off for the festivities to follow Over the Holiday weekend at the Broadmoor. The next three Days at the Broadmoor were filled with Tennis and Golf tournaments along with swimming relaxing and just Plain fun. On july 2nd, the golfers competed in the Flag tournament with Bruce Jacobson taking first place and Barry Wallack taking second place followed by Joe Simkin in third place position and James Ackerman in fourth place. On july 4th, golfers again tried their Luck in the throw out tournament with Arnold Chaplick capturing first place and a tie for second Between George Jock and Barry Wallack. Competition was keen on the Tennis courts at Broadmoor with Howard Green winning first place and Mike och Stein runner up in the boys 12 and under classification. In the boys 14 and under category Jeff Melrose was the Winner with Steve Feigenbaum runner up. Charleen tue Man and Norman Ochs the in along with Harriet Goldberg and a1 Klein won the mixed doubles round Robin. Winner of the menus round Rob in were Fred Dorman and Murray Feiwell with Fred Falender and or. Harvey Feigenbaum As runners up. The 50th anniversary Celebration at the Broadmoor ended with a bang on tuesday evening july 4 with a Westem style Barbecue for the entire family. The children received Cowboy hats and bandanas and were entertained by a magician and a spectacular fireworks display. Natalie and Marty Kroot were in charge of arrangements for the family night. Among those family groups enjoying the evening were Linda and Herbert Melrose Ellie and Chuck Riskin Marilyn and Don Hester Carol and Aaron Cohen Harriet and Harry Stone Judy and Harvey Himmelstein Susan and Marvin Mitchel Jan and buddy Yosha Debbie and Fred Dorman Elaine and Eugene Lubin and Many Many More a congratulations to Phillip Ganz son of or. And mrs. Max Ganz of Marion Indiana on his recent marriage to miss Jodi Joseph of Sterling Illinois. Attending the wedding in Sterling Illinois from Indianapolis were or. And mrs. Harold Goldberg or. And mrs. Leon Adler or. And mrs. Harold Yasskin or. And mrs. Ralph Fink and or. And mrs. Lester Engel. A a a crowd of Over 75 people turned out for the City of Hope a fall you can eat Chicken dinner and social evening. Mary and Jack Kaseff and Yetta and Ben Borinstein must have been Busy All Day sunday frying up Chicken for the Large gathering the Willows clubhouse was turned into a restaurant for the evening with a Large salad bar set up for guests to use their imagination in creating their own salads. There was a sweets table set up with an abundance of Home baked goodies. Some of the Bakers for the occasion were mrs. Irving Lebewitz Blanch mrs. Max Levy an mrs. Izzie Anton terriers. Jack Ladin Sylvia and mrs. Jack Kaseff Mary. After dinner cards and Mah Jong groups formed and everyone had a delightful evening. Among these enjoying the evening were Marian and Archie Aronstam or.
