And since i have returned Home i have talked to several of you who have been kind enough to keep me informed on your Holiday activities. Thanks a million. For those of you who done to Ever Call me Why done to you make it one of your new year resolutions to Call me with Good news about you and the people that you know i really would appreciate it very much. We loaded up the car with children and Luggage and drove to Disney world in Orlando Fla. Everyone should go a it is really terrific. There Are loads of things to do for each member of your family. In fact for dad there Are two Beautiful Golf courses. It seems like quite a few people went away for the Winter holidays or at least part of them. We were on the outskirts of Atlanta ga., when we passed a station Wagon and guess who was inside a our friends and neighbors Natalie and Marty Kroot and their sons. The roots were on their Way to Miami Beach. Staying at the same hotel in Miami were Judy and Harvey Himelstein and their family and Eddie and Stephanie Bartick and their two children. Enjoying the Miami Beach Sunshine right next door were Sorelle and Steve Ancel and their three pretty daughters. We had another a guess who we ran into in Atlanta. We had dinner in an area in Atlanta called a underground Atlanta which is a rather unique spot and As we came out of the restaurant there stood Mike Silberstein and his Beautiful wife. I am sure Many of you remember Mike. He grew up in Indianapolis. He and his wife make their Home in Atlanta a. With their baby daughter. No wonder they love it so a it is a swinging City. Wow to name everyone who spent part or All of the Winter vacation away would just be too lengthy. Charlene and Sid Tuch Man were away As was Susie and Bob perk and their family. Cece and Dick Bartick broke up the Long vacation for their children with a Short trip to Hueston Woods in Ohio. Or. And mrs. Morris Kaplan were gone for almost two weeks. They drove from Here to Atlanta a. Where they spent a delightful week visiting with their son and seeing the sights in that area. Then they drove on to Orlando Fla. Where they visited with their newly married daughter Beverly and her husband Art Litka. Beverly and Art have just moved into a new Home and this was the first time that the Kaplan had seen the House. Beverly and Art made sure that the Kaplan saw All the Points of interest in the area including Disney world and Cape Kennedy where they saw the Moon rocket which is All ready on the launch pad for the Blastoff which will take place March 17 of this Brand new year. Speaking of the new year May i just take a minute out of All the news that i have to share with you to wish you and yours a Happy and healthy new year. I might add that if you had guests in or went to a party please let me know. We plan to devote the next couple of columns to the new year activities that were enjoyed by Many. Another couple away for part of the Winter Holiday were Phyllis and Arvin Steinberg. They packed up their children and went to Detroit to visit Phyllis family. Phyllis mom and dad get such a kick out of seeing their grandchildren. I want to thank my Mother lil Horwitz and Phyllis Steinberg. Both did a great Job of keeping you informed on various happenings in our fair City while we were away and i really appreciate it very much. Thanks. Next week when we have More space we will mention More of our mid Winter vacationers who travelled both near and far. Or. Danielson to show Art work or. Phyllis Danielson associate professor and head of the Art education of Herron school of Art will have a creative stitchery and hand weaving demonstration at the jewish Community Center 6701 Hoover Road on thursday Jan. 13 from 10 to 11 30 . Which will be open to the Public free of charge. On thursday Jan. 20, or. Danielson will Start teaching two series of creative stitchery with six sessions in each series at 10 to 11 30 . And thursday evening at 8 to 9 30 . She will concentrate on color relationships and development in execution of individual designs. Fee for the series is $10 for members and $15 for others. Registration is now open. Call 251-9467 for further information. Sisterhood Tea the joint sisterhood Tea will be held on monday Jan. 10 at 12 30 . At the United orthodox hebrew synagogue 5879 Central Avenue. All members and friends of the sisterhood of the Beth Al congregation b a n a i torah Indianapolis hebrew congregation Etz Chaim and the United orthodox hebrew congregations Are cordially invited to attend. Or. Danielson Art educator there is a Brand new auxiliary in Indianapolis that really deserves your support. Our Fine hebrew Day school has formed an auxiliary and Are looking Forward to your membership and support. There Are three classes of support a membership is $3 a year a sponsorship is $5 a year and the fee is $10 a year to be a Patron. Please Send your checks to mrs. B. Frankovitz. This new group will devote itself to service to the school and fundraising. Among those on the steering committee Are fran Schiffman Carol Cohen Simone hasten Frances Al Stadter and Eileen Prince. Mrs. Maurice Schankerman will head the membership drive. The drive is underway at the present time. The newly formed auxiliary held its first fund raising function during the Winter school vacation and it was a huge Success. Over 150 children gathered at the Jea to see a movie and enjoy soft drinks and Popcorn. The kids had a Ball the chairman of the event was a relatively new member of our Community a Shirley Segall. She and her committee did a grand Job. Those helping her included Sandy Frankovitz Esther Epstein Eileen Prince Marilyn Shankerman Shirley Kurlander Connie Yaffe Frances Alstadter and fran Shiffman. We wish this new group a great Deal of Success. After hearing some of their fund raising ideas we Are just sure that they Are going to raise a great Deal of Money for the Day school. And we All know that there Are always items needed by a school. Tennis anyone the popularity of Tennis among our crowd has grown so in the past three or four years. Just everyone is playing the Broadmoor country club built additional courts last summer because the lines waiting to get on the courts were so great and last year the very popular Racquet club built additional courts and the jewish Community Center has announced that they Are going to build Tennis courts which will be ready for the game of a a love this coming Spring. Even though the weather has been very pleasant so far this Winter it definitely Isnit Nice enough to be out of doors in a Short White skirt or White Tennis shorts and the most popular indoor spot to play Tennis is the Racquet club. Some of the girls whom you can spot there during the Day Are Shirley Kurlander Louise Kline Shirley Kulwin Harriet Wolf Pat Klein Sandy Slavin Judy Scharffin Ester Kramer Dolly Falender and Marilyn Glick. Others wearing those Short White skirts include Ruth Klein whose White skirt reveals White ruffled panties As she moves on the court. Barbara Solomon enjoys playing and of course everyone knows How terrific Barbaraus husband Chuck is on the Tennis and hand Ball court. In just one afternoon we saw Joan Wolf Phyllis Ackerman Iris Bronstein Phyllis Cohn Babs Cohn Paula Falender Dale Friedlander and Janie Maurer All having the time of their lives on the Tennis courts. Around and about we Are glad to report that Susan Mitchell is Home from the Hospital from minor surgery and she and Marvin and their Beautiful daughter Elizabeth will move into their new Home before Long. Hadassah has welcomed As new members mrs. Fred Berns mrs. William Cohen mrs. Dennis Escol and mrs. Marc Freeman. Done to miss Les infants do Paradis which will be presented Jan. 11 at 8 .
