Each Side made errors repeatedly thus allowing several unearned runs. At the end of the eighth inning the score stood 11 to 5 in Ivor of Franklin. In the ninth inning the visitors took a Brace and scored three runs making the score 11 to 8. Hits Franklin 6 Hanover 7. Men struck out Allen 11, Sims 9. Batteries Frank Lin Allen and Woods Hanover Sims and London. Umpire f. Schooler. Friday april 28 the Wabash team at Crawfordsville forced a game of Ball with our boys in the rain and on a Muddy Field expecting an easy walk Over. Instead however they found that they had met some men who could play real Ball and after the boys had secured two Good hits stole a few bases and were retired with a Man on third when they had never been in sight of second and had tried in vain to connect with Allen s curves they concluded it was raining too hard to play Ball so the game was called off at once. In a spiritless game of Ball tuesday afternoon May 2, on the Franklin Field the silent hoosiers won the first Victory of the season Over the College team. Allen did his part Well striking out twelve men to keys two and with proper support could have won the game. Final score 7 to 2, hits Franklin 9 s. 9. Batteries Franklin Allen and Woods s. H., keys and v. Doudt. The team succeeded in taking their fifth Scalp of the season at Moores Hill May 5, in a game in which their opponents had the better of it until in the ninth inning when our boys batted around and when the third Man was out six scores had been added to our number. In the last half they scored two runs making the final score 12 to 9. Ditmars secured three two base hits Coon Lloyd Heath and Lahue one. Struck out by Allen 12 by Lloyd 5.
