Indianapolis Dental College (Newspaper) - February 1, 1905, Indianapolis, Indiana Athletics on the evening of january 18, the the Franklin College Basket Ball team played a game with the Butler team at Butler College which resulted in a score of 83 to 6, in favor of Butler. This Large score was due to the Lack of team work on the part of the Franklin men and the splendid showing of the Butler men. After the Butler game Walter Crim was secured As a coach for the Franklin team and in the game with Elizabethtown his work showed its effect. The Home team held the visitors Down to a score of 20 to 22, and they owed their Success to the splendid work of Roy Anderson who threw 8 Field goals. John Coon played the game for Franklin and threw 5 Field goals. In the first half the Ball was continually under Elizabethtown s goal but in the last half it was held nearer the Franklin goal. The line up was As follows a. E. Hacker l f j. Anderson j. W. Coon r f Roy Anderson a. F. Thompon c f. Anderson j. B. Thompson re Roy Anderson Ted Pritchard l g s. Anderson referee sch Ler Umpire e. E. Sisco. The Best display of Basket Ball in the series played Here was Given saturday afternoon Jan. 28, in the game Between Whiteland High school and the College team. In the first half Franklin lost by her repeated fumbles and Loose playing together with Whiteland s team work and Boone s Brilliant plays but from the time the whistle blew at the beginning of the second half the Ball was practically in the hands of the Franklin men. A. F. Thompson played his part Well As Center and supported by the team succeeded in throwing 6 Field goals. Thompson played the game for Franklin and Boone for Whiteland the former threw 8 Field goals during the game and the latter 7. The final score was Franklin 34, White land 28.
