High Point Enterprise (Newspaper) - September 11, 1974, High Point, North Carolina Cohol Oilton \ outside the i \ locker room prep notebook although the Andrews Central football game is still several weeks away there is a Battle Between the two High Point rivals set for tomorrow afternoon. The sport is Tennis and it la be the Central and Andrews girls taking the courts in a conference net Battle. Fall May seem an unusual time for prep Tennis Competition but As Central coach Andrea Cozart explained the fall scheduling was necessary. A it would be much harder for to practice in the Spring when the boys Are playing because of the facilities a Cozart said. A it is better for somebody to be in the fall so both teams can have full court practice. Actually it helps the girls to play in the fall. The Good players have been playing All summer and they re in Good any girl who Wasny to in shape at the beginning of practice would have trouble getting ready for the season conference matches began a scant week after the Start of school. A most schools have to get in touch with their Tennis players before the Start of school and make sure they have their physicals a said Raider coach Karen Carten. A we were Lucky to have doctors come to the schools to do our physicals. Central currently stands 2-1 with wins Over Reidsville and Cummings and a loss to Grimsley while Andrews is 1-1, having Defeated Dudley and lost to league favorite Page.
