Apr the forgotten Man on the North Carolina Republican party s Campaign caravan this week is Superior court judge Donald l. A Donnie Smith. Most republicans consider themselves underdogs in a statewide election. But Smith. 35. Faces longer Odds than most. He was gov. Jim Holshu scr a first Superior court appointment. In March 1973. He is the first Republican incumbent in this Century to run for reelection to the court. Smith in an interview outlined the problems he faces.
