Harry Weingarten general manager of the firms Raleigh division said the layoffs Are related to the tight Money Supply squeezing the housing and utilities industries prime markets for the meters manufactured by the Plant. A the reason for the cutback is the decline in our sales which has been caused by the drastic reduction in housing starts and the slowdown in expansion plans by utilities both closely tied to Hie tight Money situation Quot Weingarten said.
