Buren Cranford was installed As president of the Pilot club of Archdale Trinity at the regular dinner meeting of the club held on monday evening at the Home of mrs. Howard Younts on route 5. Mrs. C. E. Peace past governor of District 6. Pilot International and a member of the Pilot club of High Point served As the installing officer. Other officers taking oath with mrs. Cranford included mrs. George Slaydon or. Vice president. Mrs. Albion English treasurer. Mrs. Wendell Cole recording Secretary and mrs. Dallas Younts corresponding Secretary. Mrs. J. W. Giles. Mrs Buell Bingham and mrs. Brown Cumby were installed As directors. Mrs. Peace used the Pilot International theme for 1974-75. A Trail blazing to new horizons As the guideline for her remarks. She presented each officer a Token gift symbolizing the duties of her particular office and As each officer lit a Candle signifying her Promise to fulfil her duties the entire membership joined in unison pledging their support during the year. Mrs. George Clements announced a $10.00 donation to the Archdale mayors committee for employment of the handicapped. Mrs. W. L. Sparks read the code of ethics to close the meeting. Archie Saintsing. The National kidney foundation presented North Carolina Junior women s clubs with two first place awards for their participation in the a Alliance for life kidney disease project. Presentations were made at the general federation of women s clubs International convention today in Minneapolis minn., by Edward j. Mitchell executive director of the foundation. Mrs. Robert Shoffner Junior director and mrs. Thomas Hayworth Junior Home life chairman accepted the awards for the North Carolina clubs. The first place state award was for outstanding achievements in the fight against kidney disease. The clubs Are supporting a special educational fund for scholarships to train nurses dieticians medical and paramedical persons in the Field of kidney treatment. The Junior woman a club of High Point received a first place individual club award for the production of a slide program aimed at the nonmedical person emphasizing the life of a dialysis patient and the importance of the Organ donor program. Over 1200 people have already seen the slide presentation. The members participated in a television program informing the Public about the Organ donor program distributed brochures secured newspaper publicity and involved other organizations in the fight against kidney disease. Together with the governor s proclamation of kidney month All the club members inundated the state with information about kidney disease with radio spots newspaper publicity handing out Over 73.000 pieces of literature and distributing information to the state s too Public health departments. The club members staffed an exhibit at a nine Day state fair answering questions about kidney disease dialysis and Organ donation. The National kidney Suzanne Myers and w. M. Rose engaged Charlotte miss Ann Vernon Johnson was paid Honor at a luncheon Given by mrs. Larry Wilson and mrs. Dave Harris on saturday at 149 Benbow Lane. Guests were greeted in the foyer of the Home and invited Bible study set thursday the Adger Mckay Bible study will be held at the Sheraton hotel Gold room on thursday evening at 7 30 o clock.
