Fire tax from Page in districts through 1980 Shaw said he Hopes that a fire petition week can be set aside when people will have opportunities will have to sign petitions. Emphasizing the importance of better fire Protection Shaw said a person owning property valued at $30,000 is now paying $21 in fire District taxes. This he said does not provide enough funds for operation. Many departments he said Are operating with old outmoded equipment. Thosteson How can a fissure be cured with or without an operation what causes a fissure must a rectum be closed because of such a condition a whether a fissure or haemorrhoids when rectum is operated on for either fissure or haemorrhoids How Long generally speaking does it take to heal under these conditions should the patient eat everything or be on a Bland diet is there a Medicine for such trouble will the streets trouble return a e. W. Quite a handful of questions an anal fissure is a split in the surface membrane of the anus and when one occurs it usually becomes infected resulting in bleeding and a discharge. And pain. There is no Medicine that will cure a fissure. Cure is achieved by surgical removal of the affected tissue and letting the healthy tissues heal together. This takes about to Days or so. No the rectum is not closed for that or for haemorrhoids. After surgery a diet with sought by chair City Greensboro two proposals for Road improvements in the Thomasville area were to be presented to the state Board of transportation meeting Here today at the Greensboro Public Library. A delegation of Thomasville citizens was to have offered the recommendations. Those expected to attend were Thomasville planning director Paul key mrs. Robert s. Powell chairman of the planning Board and zoning commission and Hal Mobley administrator for the local chamber of Commerce and Strong proponent of Street improvement projects. The two proposals prepared for submission Louis of of of the Lre chiefs Ernest with n hat pc pointed that continuing the rate at its present level when the level of valuation will Rise this year from 70 per cent of Market value in 1973 to too per cent of Market value would mean a 42 per cent increase in taxes for residents of the fire districts. The commissioners have been hesitant to impose a heavy tax increase on property holders within the fire districts without a vote. With Shaw on the committee will be members of the Guilford county fire Protection special legislative committee a representative from each of the fire districts and various Community representatives. From Page in architects a member american Institute architects committee Institute Fellowship past chairman of committee of relations with the construction Industry past chairman of the planning and zoning commission for City of High Point and past judge of North Carolina apprentice bricklaying contest. Local projects for which he was the architect include the . Post office Myca Public Library county building High Point monthly meeting of friends and several schools in Guilford county and High Point. He was especially noted for his design of Large period residences in Sedgefield Winston Salem Lexington Reidsville Greensboro and High Point. Wednesday at Saint Mary a episcopal Church by the Rev William a Price burial will be in Oakwood memorial Park the family will be at the Home on Forest Hill drive. The family requests that memorials be made to Saint Mary a episcopal Church rather than to the funeral today have been widely discussed Over the past year. One involves the widening of . 68 from Westchester drive in High Point to the Thomasville City limits and the other request Calls for the rerouting of no. 109 away from the downtown area moving it to Julian Avenue and National Highway. Improving Highway 68, the newer of the two ideas was first Given serious attention at the meeting of the Thomasville planning Board and zoning commission last month. The Board voted to recommend the proposal with the understanding that no funds for Road improvements within the Thomasville City limits would be diverted. Bob Vaughn a member of the state Board of transportation has indicated the chances Are slim of the projects winning immediate approval. He pointed out that the governors seven year Highway construction program has already been released and the Highway 68 project does not appear on it. Consequently state funds will not be available for it for at least seven years. Also absent from the governors seven year plan was the proposal for rerouting Highway 109. A delegation from Thomasville went to Raleigh last september to present the idea to state Secretary of transportation Bruce Lentz. The proposal was actually part of a package that included the 1969 Thomasville major thoroughfare plan. Rerouting the Highway via Julian Avenue and National Highway does not appear in the plan itself but the suggestion to utilize this course was made for reasons of Economy. The route As proposed would require no new railway underpasses since it goes through the existing George l. Hundley underpass. According to subsequent Cost estimates the rerouting would Cost $2,7 million. Taking a different route which would entail construction of another underpass would consume $5 i Highway engineers estimate plenty of bulk usually is recommended the purpose being to promote Bowel action and thus to avoid adhesion. A bulk producing medication May be used As Well for the same purpose. With Good Bowel habits a fissure is not Likely to recur a but it can recur if Stool material is hard. So learn to keep the Stool soft and avoid straining in the bathroom. Removal of haemorrhoids takes about the same time for recovery As correction of a fissure and the dietary considerations Are similar. Again there is no Medicine that will cure haemorrhoids although in mild cases medications can promote the patient s Comfort. A Hemo Rhoid is a varicose vein and such a vein once removed cannot recur. That does not mean however that other veins cannot become varicose. Avoiding recurrence requires the same precautions As for avoiding another fissure. For additional information on fissures haemorrhoids As Well As fistulas i suggest you read my Booklet on haemorrhoids. Mary Coon of Thomasville who presented a plaque to Richard Davis an employee of the county a ambulance service for saving her life and the life of her child. Davis pulled mrs. Coon and the child from a wrecked vehicle which was beginning to Burn As a result of an Accident Early in March. Commissioners adopted a Resolution certifying the final results of the recent Bond referendum which brought approval of the $8 million program for the evergreens replacement and enlargement project and for the $500,000 program to provide a new sheltered workshop for the county. They also approved construction by a Developer at his Cost of a sewer line in Momaday Road near 1-40. The line will Cost $23,435 and the county a Revenue out of tap on fees will be $11,650. Dear or. The Acteson is chewing gum digestible is there harm in feeding it regularly to a year old baby to be eaten and swallowed like Candy we need your answer. A mrs. . No chewing gum is not digestible. In will pass readily through the digestive tract though so no worry on that score. All the same i would never give it to a year old baby because if some of it got into the baby a Windpipe you could have a dreadful emergency. A Little piece of it could Block the Windpipe and cause strangulation which is one of the dangers of Babyhood whether its a Bead a Button piece of a plastic toy or whatnot. A Distant second among reasons for not giving gum to a Small baby is that sooner or later they learn to Chew it enough to make it Sticky and then get it stuck in their hair or on Papas easy chair or in the carpet. A decision was postponed until the councils next meeting. Councilmen also gave tentative approval to allow the proposed East Davidson Junior High school to tap onto Thomasville City sewer Mains. City attorney George Saintsing was directed to draw up a contract which will stipulate that sewer services should be suspended if waste treatment facilities in the City become overloaded. At a Public hearing which opened the monday meeting councilmen gave approval for a zoning change from manufacturing to commercial for the Back portion of the Lloyd Jones property on Randolph Street next door to the a amp a shopping Center. The area will Likely become the site for Thomasville first Mcdonald s hamburger establishment. The Council defered decisions on whether to close a portion of Rose Avenue not now in general use and whether to reduce the number of members on the zoning Board from to to seven in order to comply with state Law.
