about resources for response to human need will be held in Rainbow inn near Here saturday by United methodists to assist churches and Church related agencies and programs to secure mis signal funding miss Virginia Miller of Anderson chairwoman for the workshop said an experienced teaching staff has been gathered to impart methods of seeking this additional funding originally two workshops were planned one at Pfeif Fer College at Misenheimer and one at Allen High school in Asheville but Small registration caused the planning com Mittee to choose a Central site Combine both workshops and cancel the original schedule there will be a registration fee which will cover the Cost of materials lunch and production of the workshop this is an interdenominational event for churches and groups participating in Church related programs of the Piedmont and Western North Carolina Region persons interested in attending May still Register at the beginning of the Jan 12 session Rainbow inn is located one half mile East of Morgan ton South of 140 using the Bethel Road exit off of the interstate miss Miller said the sponsor ing United methodist agencies Parish and Community ministries and the town and country commission of the Board of missions have discovered a need Felt from churches or Church related agencies and programs which didst know How to go about solving their financial needs there Are Many sources of funds she said from government agencies foundations corporations and individuals which must be approached to Grant the funds we Are securing people who have been successful in these areas to Tell How to go about preparing applications and approaching the people and the agencies miss Miller said miss Miller who is chairwoman for the Rural economic development task Force for the conference listed these areas of study for the two workshops foundations individual and Community corporations other Public funds funding for Day care centers writing proposals and Church Agen cies miss Miller said these Are the men and women who will Lead these courses of instruction or Warner l Hall individual and Community corporations or Hall is the executive director of the presbyterian foundation inc he is the former minister for covenant presbyterian Church and since 1964 has been chairman for the Charlott Mecklenburg Community relations committee which has dealt with racial in justices and inequities in the City and county Richard male Church Agen cies or male is the director of the Missouri Delta ecumenical ministry under his leadership Modem has grown from an idea and a Small staff to 15 employees who have Given leadership in establishment of Rural cooperatives a shopping Center health and mental health programs Etc miss Betty Chafin writing proposals miss Bethlehem Center of Charlotte miss Polly Langston funding for Day care centers miss Langston is the director of Day care services in Mecklenburg county for the social services the Rev or Marvin Lair other Public funds or Lair is the coordinator for the Colum Bia so Urban service Center he has been successful in securing funds for the treat ment and rehabilitation work with those on drugs or Paul
