By Robert Marks Enterprise staff writer High Point area boy scouts Mark their 50th anniversary tonight when the Wharrie Council holds its annual dinner and awards meeting at Wesley memorial United methodist Church. The Silver Beaver award the highest Honor in scouting will be presented to three adults in recognition of their leadership and service to boy scouts. Organized in 1924, the a Wharrie Council encompasses a portion of Guilford county including High Point and Jamestown a portion of Randolph county including Archdale and Trinity and All of Davidson and Davie counties. At the end of 1973, there were 2,696 boys enrolled in scouting programs in the Council area. The boys were Active in a total of 128 units including cub scout packs. Boy scout troops and explorer posts. Eagle scout awards went to 114 scouts in the Wharrie Council last year. Two troops in High Point Are As old As the Council itself.
