In its first official report the commission provided for salaries working hours classifications Etc., for state employees in executive departments of the state government. Upon procuring a ruling from the attorney general on the Point in which that official held that the commission was without authority to allow less holidays than provided by lathe commission receded from its position on the matter of Legal holidays. But stated that at the approaching meeting it would seriously consider either by cutting Down vacation periods lengthening working hours or abolishing saturday half holidays finding Means of making up the six Days which tile attorney general s ruling prevented the commission from securing services from state employees. That the question of requiring employees to make up this six six Days will be seriously considered has been definitely announced but what Steps the commission will take has not been suggested either by members of the executive Secretary.
