Senator Joseph t. His speech As permanent chairman this convention was calculated to still further drive Home to democrats the party need for agreement and not dissension the eve the Campaign. A test flight that May afford the first official in sight into the overwhelming Power the Smith forces appeared not improbable As the session got under Way. The credentials Cox Smittee voted 42 to 7 Early this morning to seat the Smith delegation 20 from Louisiana As opposed to the anti Smith faction backed by mrs. In every direction save that prohibition the democrats seemed today to be steering toward the Harmony that has not been their s since the 1916 convention. And the leaders were hopeful that even there strenuous j fight can be avoided. The Young red headed governor Texas Dan Moody however has still to be placated the wet and dry Issue. Governor Moody announced this morning he would be Content with no Mere Law enforcement Plank prohibition.
