Monday july 7, 1969, in the United methodist Church in Rippey. The Rev. John Nye pastor of the United methodist Church at Batavia spoke words of Comfort. Keith Sutton accompanied by mrs. Bernice Marie Groves daughter of 0. D. And fee Kendall Miller was bom August 20, 1901, in Boone Iowa. From there she later moved with her parents to Ames Iowa to live for a Short time. She then made her Home in Jefferson where she grew to womanhood. On october i 1919, in Jefferson Iowa Bernice was United in marriage with Jesse Lee Groves at the parsonage of the Rev. Or. Wills. To this Union two daughters and one son were Horn. After their marriage the couple moved to the Rippey Vicinity where they have since lived. Bernice was a member of the United methodist Church the order of Eastern Star chapter be. 527, and the Royal neighbors All in Rippey and the world War i veterans auxiliary in Jefferson of which she was presently serving As president. Mrs. Groves passed away july 4, 1969, at St. Mary a Hospital in Rochester Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents.
