Jf this be true, ftie could not meet her Confort on the 20th at Afcnaffenburg, according to Appointment. Cologne, Sept. 20. By the Preparations that are making at the Court of our Eleftor, that Prince feems inclined to make a Tour to Franckfort : We do not imagine, however, that he will at the Coronation, but only that he will enter this City after it is over, jn order to make his Compliments in Perfon to their Imperial Majelties. Among thofe who diltingaifh'd themfelves here, in the Rejoicings for the Grand Duke's Election, M. Rodeiique, Author of the French Gazette, wa- very remarkable. Rome, Sept. 4. The Pope prefented fome Time ago to the Abbe de .Camillac, the French Minifter, two new Medals of Gold, as a Prefent to M. de Voltaire, in Token of the great Value he fets upon the fine Talen s of that famous Poer. One Side reprefents the Pope with his Tiara and Dalmatica, upon which the 12 Apoftles are diftindlly graven ; on the other, the Capico], with Antique Bulls newly difcovered, and a Minerva in her Cafque placed in the Middle, with a Square in one Hand, and a Lance in the ether. On Taefday laft eight Tranfports arrived at Gravefend from Holland, having on board three Dutch Regiments of Foot, Part of the Forces demanded of the States General by his Majefty ; which were landed there that Evening.- This was the laft Embarkation from Holland ; fo that there can be no Doubt of the firlt being arrived in Scotland ; from whence we may foon expect an Account of the Rebels having laid down their Arms.-This is the more likely from fome Methods the Government has juft taken. The Nottingham Man of War, commanded by the Rt. Hon. the Lord George Graham, being compleatly mann'd is gone to the Downs, to wait for Sailing Orders. By private Advices from Boloign we are allured that the villainous and deftruftive Practice of Smuggling is carried on there as much as ever, and that thofe Villains carry over at leaft 5000 1. Sterling every 14 Days, to purehafe Tea, Brandy, &c. But tnat is not the only Mifchief, for thefe Fellows are obliged, on Oath, to declare all they fee done on their own Coaft.-What Sort of Englifhmen are they who encourage this Practice, for the fake of buying.
