The Court has ordered the Town of Civatella, upon the Tronto, to be fortified, and the Fortifications of other Places, as well as the Levies, are carried On with the utmoft Diligence. The neceffary Orders are joft publifh'd, and Tent into all the Provinces of the Kingdom, for furnifliing a certain Quantity of Rice and Meal, to form Magazines at St. GermafjQ, Gaeta, Teramo, Or-tona and Aquila. Genoa, May 24. We are affured, that the 1200 French Troop, confiding of Foot and Horfe, which paffed Yef-terday thro* St. Pietro d' Arena, in order to jcin M. Mailie-bois between Tortona and Novi, are the fame that were at St Remo 10 or 12 Days ago, in their Way from Nice. Thefe Troops have given out upon the Road, that they are a Van-guard of 20,00c Men, which are upon the March to reinforce the Army in Lombardy. But our Advices from the Weft fay nothing of the Arrival of the Reft of this Corps, which makes us doubt whether the Report has any Foundation. We hear, that 400 Piedmontcfe, having advanced to CaftefcVecchio, were repulfed with Left by our Troops. The EngliJh are continually hovering about our Coafts, and do us a great deal of Damage. Rome, May 28. By fearching farther into the Vault discovered lately at Rignano, fome ancient Manufcripts have been difcovered (lately put there) which prove it to have been appropriated by fome pious Reman Lady for the Burying-place of Martyrs. Eleven of thefe have been found, two of whom appear to be Maximums and Rufinus, having by them the Signals of their Martyrdom, which are a Phial of Blood and a Palm-branch. As to the nine others, Names have been alfo given them, and their Benes have been brought to the Church with great Ceremony.-The Church of Rome defrays all the Monuments of true Anti-JKrVy, by affixing to tbem Signals of their oivn Invention. Probably tbefe Eleven^ Martyrs were never Cbriftians j but may ferve, at leaft, the two vahofe Names are publijhed, to add a little Embellijhment to the PopiJhKaUndar. Florence, May 28. Our Troops are preparing to enter the two Camps which the Regency has refolved to form about Pifa. They are; provnionally to confift of only 5000 Men. Milan, May 31. Repeated Orders come to the Governor ef our Garrifon, which has been reinforced by a Batal-lion, to keep a good Guard ; and there is a Report, that the Enemy have entered the Lodefan by Force of Arms, and obliged General Baron Roth to retire to Pizzighitone. According to the Advices from the Army of Prince Lich-tenflein, the Imperialifts, who are Matters of the Trcbia by taking the Cattle of Ripalta, do fo incommode the Spanifli Convoys from Voglera, that Count Gages has been obliged to fend 3000 Horfe that Way, to prevent the continual Inroads of the Huflars. The Spanifh Army is actually (hut up between three Rivers, which are all over-flow'd by the Rains, and the Melting of the Snows, haying at the fame Time the Imperial Army in Front, which is much fuperior to that of the Enemy, notwidiftanding the Reinforcements the latter have received.
